Their work and understanding of
the human body as it relates to the environment
became the foundation for present day traditional
Chinese medicine. Chinese medicine is about
balance, substance and force ... about yin and
yang. Every aspect of our bioelectrical chemistry
can be categorized as either yin (-) or yang (+)
and this is fundamental to diagnosis and treatment
in CM. Everything that’s living has this polarity
and it’s what keeps living organisms growing and
thriving. Think of the battery in your car because
it works in a similar fashion. Without opposing
charges, it would be dead.
Your body has 8 super meridians
or energy pathways that are with you in the early
stages of your fetal development. Once the fetus
starts developing organs, another 12 regular
meridians develop and run in duplicate - on both
the left and right side of the body. Each of the
12 regular meridians is related to a specific
organ. The meridians form an energy network that
covers the entire body. They link with each other
and connect all structures and all parts of the
body - skin, tendons, bone, internal organs,
cells, atoms. This Chi filled network strives to
maintain a healthy electrical vitality and allow
the free movement of life force so the body can
function as an organic whole.
The meridians form a powerful
information network allowing the various body
parts to communicate with each other faster than
the speed of light. When the body is in a state of
balance, the solids (-) and forces (+) are
transforming and transmuting back
and forth smoothly and the physiological processes cannot be
seen. A process is only seen when
the system becomes imbalanced.
